A competition celebrating original music from solo artists and singer-songwriters of every genre. From indie, folk and country to pop, rock and soul, performers will compete in front of judges and a live audience to earn their place in the Grand Final.

Competition Format

The competition will run across three heats and a Grand Final, with two performers from each heat progressing to the final.

Heats

Three heats plus Grand Final
Four to six artists per heat
7pm–10pm
Two artists progress from each heat

Performances

15-minute set
Minimum 50% original songs
Covers permitted

Judging

Performers will be judged through a combination of industry judging and live audience votes.

Voting

50% judging panel
50% audience vote

Judges

The judging panel will include local musicians and music industry professionals.
